This application requires two primary tools: a Plant Model or LP Model for planning, and a scheduling tool. The P&S supports managers in the following activities:
Interpreting sales plans and translate them into periodic production plans
Interfacing with third parties (for example, the DCS) to schedule intermediate product requirements
Calculating the optimal use of production capacity
Supporting day-to-day, plant-wide production planning
Ensuring product availability
Preparing schedules for raw material demand
Calculating the impact of plant status (for example, planned shutdowns)
