The objective of this project was to define key implementation elements, in terms of:
Strategy,
Approach,
People,
Project management,
Phases,
Schedule and cost.
At the end of the study, Dolphin had a clear, detailed understanding of:
Complete SAP project implementation cost and time required,
Platform technical evaluation and selection (Oracle with Unix vs. SQL with Windows),
The resources needed for each phase from the contractor and Dolphin,
The benefits of alternative contracting approaches (i.e. lump-sum against in-house with body shop resources).
The study resulted in a Project Charter, including the following activities:

Conduct an SAP To-Be Design Study resulting in a Business Blueprint, providing DEL with a general understanding of how its business processes should be mapped to SAP systems. |
The purpose of the Business Blueprint is to document in detail the scope of business scenarios, business processes and process steps, as well as taking into consideration the requirements of SAP Business Suite implementation. SAP Business Suite, including the following modules:
Financial Accounting
Controlling
Treasury
Material Management
Project Systems
Enterprise Portals
Business Warehouse
The study was conducted using SAP IDES system to demonstrate existing SAP functionalities and how they can be mapped to Dolphin's business processes. CIC provided the following deliverables to DEL :

This allowed job opportunities to be published, and interested applicants to apply for job offers through Dolphin Energy's web site. The project included the following:
